Location Autonaming

The autonaming of locations is done by the location type. A location type has the following properties.

From the Image-Library an icon can be selected, which is shown at locations of the type instead of the default location icon.

Initial part of the automatically generated location name, here the use of variables is possible, e.g. to include the parent name in the new location: <parent.name>. All variables can be found under Help>Data Transfer.

Numbers

Activates sequential numbering with the following format

Start value of the "Numbering" function

Step size of the numbering

Digits

Specifies the number of digits to which the number is to be filled with zeros at the beginning.

Selection, in which range the "numbering" should work, system-wide means all locations get unique numbering, on a location level means in the new location numbering starts again at start value

 

Application

The location types are used in the location levels and the locations.

 

 

The meaning of the columns is described below:

Name: Choose a name for your Transmission rates kind

Abbreviation: Choose an abbreviation (not mandatory)

Description: Short description (not mandatory)

Image: Append image (not mandatory)

Autom. Naming: Check the box to activate Autonaming

Name default: Determine class which appears in autonaming. For more information about the name syntax, see section 2.2.3

Number: Check box to activate automatic numbering.

Start value: The start value of the automatic numbering

Increment: Step size

Stellen: Number of digits of the sequential number

Valid: Validity area
