Components are often replaced by components of a different type. This case is implemented in ConnectMaster throught the change component type function. A component type can always be switched with a type of the same or larger dimension.

When switching a type with one of a smaller dimension the ports and points that will be reduced must be free of connections and usages. If this is not the case ConnectMaster will not allow the switch.
