Visio test filter

Check Visio

In ConnectMaster, the test filter “Check Visio” for Visio drawings is located under “Filter”/”Check”. The filter checks the current active drawing opened in ConnectMaster-Visio according to the following possible criteria:

Checks whether a ConnectMaster element appears more than once in the Visio drawing.

Valid CM elements

Checks whether all shapes of the Visio drawing are allocated to existing ConnectMaster elements in the database.

Data transfer is complete

Checks whether a complete data transfer was carried out for all shapes.

Structure

A/Z locations are drawn

For connector shapes of the elements Cable, Empty Pipe and Transport Container, it is checked whether a connection to A and Z location exists.

A/Z components are drawn

For connector shapes of the elements Cable, Empty Pipe and Transport Container, it is checked whether a connection to A and Z component exists.

Port-Port connections via Phys. Paths

Searches port shapes and checks connections between them. Missing and incorrect connections as well as connections that do not match the database are detected.

Filter

Filter result exists

Checks whether all elements of a filter result exist in a Visio drawing.

Filter result does not exist

Checks whether no element of a filter result exists in a Visio drawing.

Valid CM elements

This option makes it possible to test whether the Visio drawing still agrees with the current data inventory in ConnectMaster.

Filter result exists

With this information, the user can define specific ConnectMaster data with a saved filter and then also check whether all these elements really exist in the Visio drawing.

The test filter delivers as a result all symbols of the Visio drawing that do not match the criteria with the following characteristics:

Characteristic

Element

Which ConnectMaster element is analysed.

Name

Name of ConnectMaster element.

Shape

Shape text of the according shape. If there is no shape, “<Missing>” is entered here.

Thus e.g. for the criterion “Valid CM Elements” in the filter result, a list of all Visio symbols that are not allocated to a ConnectMaster element or  allocated to an element that does not exist in the database, is displayed:

Actions

The following actions can be started for selected symbols from the filter window:

Display object

The Visio drawing is shifted in such a way that the relevant shape appears in the displayed section.

Flag

The relevant shape is flagged up in the drawing.

Display and select object

Combination of actions “Display Object” and “Flag”.

Data -> Shapes

The data transfer from ConnectMaster to Visio is performed for the relevant shape.

Refresh Port-Port connections

The connections between the port shapes are redrawn according to the current data in the database.
