Visio defaults in ConnectMaster

The following specific Visio defaults can be defined in the ConnectMaster defaults:

General

Start drawing

Visio starts in ConnectMaster with the herein pre-set drawing.

Remove ConnectMaster paths from data path name

The paths CM Directory/Visio and CM Directory/visdraw are removed from the Visio search paths after closing ConnectMaster.

Automatically update Visio documents to 6.00?

Visio documents that were created with previous ConnectMaster versions are automatically updated to Version 5.50.

Prefix for CM levels

Makes it possible to define which prefix a Visio level created in ConnectMaster should begin with. Default setting is “CM:”.

CM Elements -> Symbols

Is used to define the allocation of CM elements to symbols. Please refer to 10.4.4.5.2 and 10.4.5.3.

CM properties <-> External Programmes

Is used to define CM characteristics for data exchange with Visio. Please refer to 10.4.4.4

Refresh

Brings already existing drawings up to the present Visio version

Drawing

Contains specific settings for predefined drawing types.

Is used to defined defaults for the interaction between drawing management and Visio. Please also check the “Drawing management“ module.

Refresh content on opening

The content of the drawing in the drawing management function is refreshed when opening and/or closing the drawing.

Drawing control

The drawing control is a module that can be additionally activated in ConnectMaster.

Automatic allocation of new symbols

The selection window of the appertaining ConnectMaster element opens automatically when creating a ConnectMaster shape in Visio.

Activate symbol control

The drawing control is activated for Visio drawing and the following actions are available to the user.

Preselection of elements

If an empty connector shape is docked to a location shape, the selection window is then opened with the location of the location shape as preselection for the ConnectMaster element matching the shape.  This control function can be activated selectively for:

•Cable

•Empty pipe

•Physical path

•Transport container

Check whether new CM symbols already exist

When allocating a shape to a ConnectMaster element, it is checked whether this element already exists in the drawing.

Check whether new connections are correct

Connector shapes for cables, empty pipes or transport containers (adjustable) are checked for:

•Location consistency: After docking/connecting a location shape to the connector shape, it is checked whether:

1.The connector element holds such an A or Z location (and/or sub location).

2.The connector shape is already connected to another location shape and this location is different from the new location shape.

•Component consistency (physical): After docking/connecting a component shape to the connector shape, it is checked whether:  

1.The connector element has such an A or Z component (and/or

2.The connector shape is already connected to another component shape and this location is different from the new component shape.

•Component consistency (logical): After docking/connecting a component shape to the connector shape, it is checked whether:

1.The connector element has an A or Z port on this card/mux.

2.The connector shape is already connected to another component shape and this location is different from the new component shape.
