General

The assignment of users to certain segments is done by a System Administrator or a Normal User with administrator role ‘User management’.
 
A Connect Master User must actively be assigned the right for a segment.

For users that have no assigned segment, no objects are longer displayed not even those that do not have a segmentation assignment yet.
 

Access Type

The user receives one of three rights per segment. Default, View, Edit.
 

 
Additionally the individual rights of the ‘Edit’ users can still be set with the extended user rights (optional module).

Distributed Objects

One deciding if a distributed object is allowed to be edited in the area of the editable segment, two if the external part of the distributed object is to be visible for the user or if it should be displayed as ******.  
 
Edit distributed data
Allows the editing of a distributed object in the area of an assigned segment if one has the rights for editing local objects in the assigned segment.

 
Inactive: No editing of the distributed objects is possible even the parts in the assigned segment, these are all under laid in gray as a sign of being non editable.
 

 
Active: Editing of the parts in assigned segment is possible, under laid in white.

 

 
External segment visibility
Allows the external part of the distributed object to be seen or to be made unrecognizable through *****.

 
Inactive: The external data of the distributed objects are veiled

Active: External data is visible
 

 

Visibility

The segments and rights assigned to the present user currently logged in can be seen in the status row of Connect Master.
