General
The standard Network Group Object rules do not apply. The segments of a project are not automatically updated if objects having more segments than the project has are added to the content (e.g. if a User having more segments than the project does so).
 

This behavior was designed for security reasons the keep the visibility of a project (and its information like acitivities, schedule, costs, …) controlled and restricted to defined segments.
 
Visibility
A project is visible for a user if he has
 

▪visibility rights for all segments assigned to the project or

▪visibility rights for at least one segment of the project and the user has the right „External Segment Visibility“.

Create
When a project is created it will inherit the segment assignments from the editable segments of the current user.
 

Project tree

Elements ‘External’ for the User are grayed out.
The tree shows a column with the Icon for ‘Object to Project’ segments relation.

Project Detail view

Elements ‘External’ for the User are grayed out.
The grid shows a column with an Icon for the ‘Object to Project’ segments relation.
 

Hint:

The Symbol for  ‘Object to User = External’ overrides any ‘Object to Project’ symbol and is shown instead.
