Choosing “Type: File”, the file remains stored in a filesystem where only the file hyperlink is linked to ConnectMaster. The ConnectMaster check in/check out mechanism only governs the file row properties and not the content of the file itself. When a file is checked out, ConnectMaster prevents other users from assessing the file. However, as the file is stored in a filesystem, it can be accessed directly and edited outside of ConnectMaster. Due to this, Dynamic Design cannot guarantee the file integrity.
