Many components that are managed in ConnectMaster have similarities: Category, number of connection points, length,... The description of these characteristics can be summarised as follows: |
Component type |
A component type is the description of component characteristics. It defines the appearance, functionality, etc. Each component is allocated to exactly one component type. All characteristics of a component type are inherited to the component of the component type. |
Definitions |
The characteristics of a component type can be subdivided into three areas: •General characteristics of the component type. •Characteristics that are inherited to the component level and may be changed there. •Additional category-related characteristics. Before structuring and/or entering network data, a few basic points must first be clarified.
|
Attributes of component type |
Besides the fixed characteristics of a component type, the user can define additional characteristics himself – the attributes.
|
Characteristics of the connection points |
Each component type has connection points and connection positions for each connection side. Please also refer to Chapter “Category”.
|
Grouping of connection points |
As an additional option, connection points can be grouped in any order. Characteristics and groupings of the connection points of a component type are also inherited to the components. |
