General characteristics

 

General characteristics applicable to all filters are described in the following.

Criteria display

Each search criterion can be displayed permanently in the header of the search filter, which saves time in the case of frequently used criteria.

Arrangement

The permanently displayed criteria can be displayed in 1, 2 or 3 rows; this can be set temporarily in the filter and/or permanently via the defaults (General > Style).

Wildcards

In filter criteria that query character strings, wildcards  can be used to refine the search.  Wildcards are replacement characters for characters and/or character strings. The following options are available:

Boolean operations

With the Boolean operations, several filter criteria can be linked to each other through “and” and/or “or“:

Delivers “true” if all linked statements are fulfilled (“true”).

Delivers “true” if at least one statement is fulfilled (“true”).
