Element characteristics

A component is then called an element if it is integrated into a equippable component.

Component types of all categories can be integrated into equippable component types in one way or another.

The dimension of the element is dependent on its physical size in relation to the physical size of the equippable component type.

Standard dimension

Rows/slots

Quite a lot of painstaking work can be saved in standard environments by indicating the standard dimension in the form of any used rows and slots.

 Example:

A patch panel uses 2 RU in the 19” system.

In every cabinet type according to 19“standard, the element is now fitted with 2 RU without having to define every combination consisting of cabinet and element.
