The remote test units (RTU) of the Fiber Monitoring System (FMON) are placed in the ConnectMaster customer’s fiber optic network. These FMON-RTU’s send their alerts (SNMP Trap) with an MIB-information (containing the detected fault details) to ConnectMaster SNMP Trap Listener. The incoming alert is mapped to Vendor MIB definition and creates a standard FMON alert in ConnectMaster alert system. Registered users will be alerted in active ConnectMaster Client. Details of the alert are visible within the ConnectMaster Client interface. The fault can be shown directly on the Map, and configurable reports including details of the fault location and available slack lengths in adjacent manholes can be immediately generated.
