Dashboards can get their data from different sources, either directly from the database using SQL queries or using predefined data sets of Dynamic Design, which is the preferred way. Each dashboard consists of a number of dashboard items. They can be graphical like charts or pies or textual like text boxes or grids. Dynamic Design provides several standard dashboards that act as templates for customization by the user. Only system administrators are able to create and manipulate dashboards by using the Dashboard Designer. Every other user can only see them using the Dashboard Viewer. Furthermore, he is able to make them available for each user and declare them to be shown at start-up.
