Definition |
In this action, a cable is split, resulting in 1 new cable and two new components of the category “Series terminal” or “Strip/Panel”, which are placed between the two (old and new) cable.
Split cable segments |
If the original cable is subdivided into several cable segments, these are allocated to the two cables, where 2 options are possible: •The location of the junction is identical to the end location of a cable segment. •The location of the junction is not identical to the end location of a cable segment.
Left / Right |
This information in the workflow “Split cable, insert junction” indicates where the new cable is located in the newly created structure.
Junction |
The new components of the category “Series terminal” or “Strip/Panel” must have at least the dimension of the cable. Existing components without cross-connections can also be selected.
New cable |
The new cable receives the same component type as the original cable.
Cross-connections |
The original cable is connected 1:1 with the first component (left) and the new cable is connected 1:1 with the second component (right). Both components are patched to each other 1:1 on the right. Cross-connections remain unchanged at the cable ends; however, they belong to different cables as new connections.
Options |
Several options are available for the interconnection of the two components. •1:1 patched through •Open •Only connect used or named paths |
