OTN with DWDM
Description
The following information can be used to assist with modelling an Ethernet over OTN with DWDM transport circuit. It does not attempt to provide detail work flow steps for building a DWDM network, it does however provide recommended modelling techniques for interacting at each layer.
Procedure
Basic Steps |
To build the OTN Client circuit the following basic steps are required once the hardware modelling is complete: 1)WDM Layer - Build DWDM Layer between the OTN Multiplexers – recommend terminating 1 Ch WDM TC on Virtual Pre-Connect Port VP within the DWDM facing SFP. Provided using coloured SFP. Pre-Connects will be needed in the SFP Template to map the VP to both the TX and RX ports of the SFP 2)OTN Parent Layer – Start building highest level typically either OTN TC OTU2 or OTU4 starting at the VP Port <*>. Alternatively internal switching cards could be used as starting point. Route the OTU2/OTU4 over the WDM Channel 3)OTN Child Layer – Build required ODx OTN TC starting from the inner port of a client facing SFP Port. Route the ODUx over the parent OTN TC. Note that the parent OTN TC will typically accept multiple child OTN TC 4)Client Layer – Client TC such as Ethernet/Sonet or SDH can now be created and routed either through the outer port or starting at the outer port of the client SFP |
