Component type attributes
Besides the fixed characteristics of a component type, the user can define any number of additional component type characteristics using the attributes. To create the attributes, all attribute types defined in the library under Attribute types are available.

If the attribute is defined as inheritable on the component type, the attribute is automatically inherited to components of this type together with its value.
On the component type Cable_Type, the component type attribute of attribute type Data sheet (of data type File) is given the value \\server\freigabe\spec.pdf and defined as inheritable, not alterable. On the component type K1 of component type Cable_Type, only the attribute Data sheet with the value \server\freigabe\spec.pdf is available and the file can be called on every specific component. If the data sheet path changes, it is enough to change it on the component type. The change becomes visible on all specific components. |
