Every location system defines a specific way to identify locations. There can be any number of location systems. The main characteristics are listed below:

Any number of attributes can be attributed to every location system. The purpose of these attributes is to store additional information at the location system. Unlike the attributes of the location levels, these attributes have no impact on the locations within this location system.
