Component name

Every component must be given a name. This is mandatory.

Depending on the setting in the category,  the name must be unique in the

System

Location

Location, also as element

If no uniqueness check is carried out, the option

No check

must be selected.

 

Component type

A component type must be allocated to every component on creation.

This component type cannot be changed subsequently.

 

Category / Type / Technology

The information on category, type and technology are inherited characteristics of the component type that cannot be changed on the component. They are only used for information purposes.

 

Creation date, Created by

These two characteristics are automatically set by ConnectMaster when creating a new component and cannot be changed.

 

Changed date, Changed  by

These two characteristics are automatically set by ConnectMaster on saving changes.

 

Dimension

The dimension is obtained from:

Dimension = Number of connection points left/right,
see 6.4.4.1

Container/Cabinet, Network Element, Shaft:
Dimension = Number of rows * Number of slots

Duct/Route:
Dimension = Number of segments * Number of ducts

 

Connections

A connection sheet equivalent is represented in the “Connections” tab. It contains information on cross-connections, usage and characteristics of each single component point.
