Symbols and Categories
These categories are specified by ConnectMaster as fixed parameters. This means that neither new categories can be created nor existing categories may be deleted. Each category includes various defaults and can be defined differently. The general characteristics and their meaning are explained in the following:
|
Each category must define how many connection positions are possible for each side, e.g. in ConnectMaster, a cable generally has only one connection position on the left and on the right. ConnectMaster can manage a maximum of 3 connection positions per connection point and connection side. |
These characteristics define whether the relevant characteristic is available or not on the connection points on a component type of this category. Thus it can already be defined at the category level that e.g. no color may be set on the connection points of a strip. For a description of the characteristics described herein, function text, etc.

ConnectMaster helps ensure and/or check the uniqueness of component names (names). The following options can be selected:
|
If a component is created within a container and placed in a slot, the latter is given the following standard name:
•Component type: Component name = Component type name •Component type/Slot: Component name = Component type name/Slot number
The individual categories are explained in more detail in the following chapters. |
